# About Me
Hello! I’m Alexandru-Adrian Negru, an Informatics graduate from the West University of Timisoara and a Software Developer at HiByte Intelli SRL.
My professional work includes developing enterprise web applications with Java Spring Boot and Angular, as well as designing a knowledge-base Retrieval-Augmented Generation chatbot with Python, NLP, and modern large language model technologies.
I previously served as a University Teaching Assistant for the Introduction to Blockchain Technologies module, leading laboratory sessions on distributed ledgers, cryptography, consensus mechanisms, smart contracts, and decentralized applications.
I am passionate about cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and Capture The Flag competitions. As a member of UVT-CTF, I compete internationally and contribute to organizing cybersecurity events while continuously improving my technical and problem-solving skills.

University Teaching Assistant

Collaborated with a software development team to build a full-stack web application from scratch. Developed backend components, contributed to database design and integration, and implemented user authentication, event planning, calendar synchronization, and polling functionality in an Agile environment.

Developed and tested autonomous and driver-controlled robot software using Java and the FTC SDK. Worked with teammates on robotic system design, prototyping, sensor integration, troubleshooting, and competitive problem-solving.

[Developer - Unihack 6th Edition] November 2024
Built a web platform during a 48-hour hackathon to facilitate skill-sharing in local communities. Users can showcase their expertise and connect with people in their city who may benefit from those skills.
ConnecTM - Smart City Issue Tracker
[Developer - ITFest Hackathon] March 2024
Developed a Smart City application that enables citizens to report public infrastructure problems, including potholes, fallen trees, and damaged street furniture, by placing categorized reports on an interactive map.
Hackmate
[Developer - WinterCode Wonderland] December 2023
Co-developed a React Native and Expo Go application that helps users discover publicly available hackathons and register their interest in participating.
NutriHub
[Developer - Unihack 5th Edition] November 2023
Co-created a nutrition application using React Native and Expo Go. Integrated open-source services and APIs, including BarCodeScanner and OpenFoodFacts, to provide product and nutritional information.
# CTF Achievements & Involvement
UniVsThreats@2026 CTF
[Organizer with UVT-CTF] May 3-5, 2026
Served as an organizer for UniVsThreats@2026, supporting the delivery of the online qualification round and the two-day on-site finals in Timisoara. Guided participants, assisted with competition operations, and contributed to creating a supportive technical environment. The event attracted 565 registered teams and 1,271 active participants from 86 countries and 548 institutions.
HackDay CTF 2026 - Third Place
[Third Place with UVT-CTF] March 28, 2026 | ESIEE Paris
Achieved third place as a member of UVT-CTF in the international HackDay CTF 2026 cybersecurity competition. Qualified among 25 teams for the 24-hour on-site final at ESIEE Paris and collaborated on technical challenges across multiple cybersecurity categories. The 2026 edition brought together approximately 1,200 participants representing 58 countries.
STS CTF 2025 - Second Place
[Second Place with W3sT-CTF3rS-1337 / UVT-CTF] October 25, 2025
Achieved second place as a member of the four-person W3sT-CTF3rS-1337 team, representing UVT-CTF. Qualified for the on-site final as one of 10 teams selected from 60 registered teams and collaborated to solve 32 challenges covering web security, cryptography, reverse engineering, digital forensics, steganography, and other cybersecurity topics during the six-hour competition.
UniVsThreats@2025 CTF
[Organizer with UVT-CTF] May 3-4, 2025
Contributed to the organization of UniVsThreats@2025, a 24-hour hybrid Capture The Flag competition hosted in Timisoara and online. Assisted with challenge design and competition management for an international event that attracted teams from 69 countries and included challenges across web exploitation, reverse engineering, cryptography, binary exploitation, forensics, steganography, programming, OSINT, and social engineering.
HackDay CTF 2025 - Finalist
[Finalist with UVT-CTF] March 29, 2025 | ESIEE Paris
Qualified as a member of UVT-CTF for the HackDay CTF 2025 international finals at ESIEE Paris after completing the online qualification round. Competed in the 24-hour on-site final against other qualified university cybersecurity teams from around the world.
